Don’t Forget to Disinfect Your Phone (June 30, 2020)
The majority of people never or rarely disinfect their phone, according to a February 2020 article from ZDNet, Dirty iPhone? Here’s one flu and coronavirus safeguard: Clean your device now.
While I am certain that personal phone disinfecting has increased over the last several months, most of us could likely still do better. Whether it is viruses or bacteria, phones can carry a lot of microbes. So, you should disinfect your phone regularly, if not daily. A microfiber cloth is best so that it won’t scratch the surface. Paper towels can be abrasive and should be avoided. Window cleaning spray, household cleaning products and alcohol-based cleaners should be avoided as well.
In early March I bought a PhoneSoap 3 Smartphone UV Sanitizer. Those devices sold out soon after, but I understand they are now shipping again. A UV sanitizer is convenient, letting you recharge and sanitize your phone at the same time.
