Share the Love, VOLUNTEER

February 8, 2021

The need for legal assistance is great, especially during this pandemic. We thank Oklahoma lawyers for all you do, and offer these reminders about these OBA programs that you can become involved with throughout our state.

Volunteer opportunities

Oklahoma Lawyers for America’s Heroes Program (okbarheroes.org)

The Oklahoma Lawyers for America’s Heroes Program was launched on Veterans Day 2010 to provide legal advice and assistance to those who have honorably served this country and are unable to afford to hire an attorney. Through this program, lawyers from across this great state stand at the ready to give legal advice and assistance to qualifying Oklahoma’s veterans, retirees, active duty enlisted servicemembers, guard members and reserve members.

Free Legal Answers (oklahoma.freelegalanswers.org)

Free Legal Answers is a virtual legal advice clinic. Attorney volunteers, who must be authorized to provide pro bono assistance in their state, log in to the website, select questions to answer, and provide legal information and advice. Volunteer attorneys will not answer criminal law questions. Qualifying users post their civil legal question to their state’s website. Look at your state’s page for more information.
