STRIKES AND SUSPENSIONS FOR FAILURE TO PAY DUES AND/OR COMPLY WITH MCLE REQUIREMENTS Executive Director Johnson explained the process of suspension and strike orders, advising that notice to show cause is mailed, followed by diligent efforts to contact each person on the list before the application is filed with the court. The board passed a motion to approve the application to suspend for failure to pay 2026 dues, the application to suspend for failure to comply with 2025 MCLE requirements, the application to strike for failure to reinstate after suspension for non-payment of 2025 dues, and the application to strike for failure to reinstate after suspension for non-compliance with 2024 MCLE requirements. AMENDMENT OF THE LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE OBA AND FASTCASE/CLIO Management Assistance Program Director Julie Bays explained the proposed amendments related to company ownership and termination time. The board passed a motion to approve the amendments. PRESIDENT PECKIO’S APPOINTMENTS The board passed motions to approve the following appointments: Oklahoma Child Death Review Board: President Peckio appoints Sara Wray, Norman, to complete the unexpired term of Susan Damron, Oklahoma City, with a term expiring Dec. 31, 2027. Professional Responsibility Commission (PRC): President Peckio appoints Timothy Lyle Olsen, Oklahoma City, to complete the unexpired term of Matthew Beese, Muskogee, with a term expiring Dec. 31, 2026. UPCOMING 2026 OBA AND COUNTY BAR EVENTS President Peckio reviewed upcoming bar-related events and activities involving the Board of Governors, including upcoming Board of Governors meetings and the OBA Midyear Conference set for June 17-19 at the OKANA Resort in Oklahoma City; the Sheep Creek dinner set for June 24 in Pontotoc County; the July virtual Board of Governors meeting; and the Oklahoma Bar Foundation 80th anniversary gala set for Sept. 18 in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Bar Association Board of Governors met June 17. REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT President Peckio reported she attended the May YLD meeting and the Legal Desert Task Force Meeting, met with the OBA’s strategic planning consultant to work on lifecycle methodology, approved invoices for technology upgrades and OBA legal expenses, continued working on presidential appointments, attended the Tulsa County Bar Association softball game, attended the State Bar Of Texas Annual Meeting and swearing-in of State Bar President G. David Smith, sent out an email reminding all OBA Members of the June 30 OBA Awards nomination deadline, and she attended the Executive Committee meeting. REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT-ELECT President-Elect Knott reported she attended the CLE Task Force meeting, met with OBA staff to discuss the CLE Department’s 2027 budget, attended the Legal Desert Task Force meeting, met with the Lawyers Helping Lawyers Foundation executive director regarding a grant Vice President Bracken reported the Military Assistance Committee is meeting regularly and preparing for the planned Heroes Day event in November. A Wills for Heroes event in McAlester is being planned for July in conjunction with the YLD.
