UPCOMING 2026 OBA AND COUNTY BAR EVENTS President Peckio reviewed upcoming bar-related events and activities involving the Board of Governors, including upcoming Board of Governors meetings and the OBA Midyear Conference June 17-19 at the OKANA Resort in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Bar Association Board of Governors met May 15. REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT President Peckio reported she attended and participated in the recording of promotional materials for Law Day; attended and spoke at the swearing-in ceremony for new admittees, attended the Tulsa County Bar Association/ Tulsa County Bar Foundation Law Day luncheon, attended and presented the keynote speech at the Seminole County Bar Association Law Day luncheon in Wewoka, attended the Pittsburg County Law Day dinner, participated in the Ask A Lawyer event on Law Day at the Tulsa County Bar Association, accepted the State Bar of Texas invitation to attend their Annual Meeting in June, coordinated with the Legal Desert Task Force for its second meeting, met with the Executive Committee and the Law Schools Committee officers to discuss the Law Schools Committee’s aims and objectives, reviewed and approved an invoice for outside counsel work on pending 10th Circuit appeal matters, met with strategic planning consultant Marcy Cottle and Executive Director Johnson to get a status update on the Lifecycle Education analysis, met with the Executive Committee to discuss the May Board of Governors meeting, completed her monthly president’s article for the May Issue of the Oklahoma Bar Journal, reviewed and discussed the Tulsa County Courthouse’s new agreed decree docket procedures with Family Law Section CLE chair Kensey Wright, reviewed the current registration levels of the OBA Midyear Conference, and she reviewed an email message promoting the conference to be sent to all OBA members. REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT-ELECT President-Elect Knott reported she attended the CLE Task Force meeting looking at ways to increase revenue, coordinated with the Legal Desert Task Force members to plan for a second meeting of the task force and attended the May meeting, attended the Bench and Bar Committee meeting where planning is underway for a booth, cabana, or hospitality suite at the Midyear Conference, attended the Tulsa County Bar Association Law Day luncheon, attended the Seminole County Bar Association Law Day luncheon in Wewoka, attended the Canadian County Bar Association Law Day luncheon, attended the Oklahoma Bar Foundation meeting, met with Law Schools Committee officers to discuss the committee’s aims and objectives, and she met with Lawyers Helping Lawyers Foundation Interim Executive Director Sarah Jane Gillet to discuss status updates for the foundation. REPORT OF THE VICE PRESIDENT Vice President Bracken reported he coordinated with the Oklahoma County Bar Association regarding Law Day events, attended the Oklahoma County Bar Association Law Day luncheon, attended the Seminole County Bar Association Law Day luncheon, attended the Pittsburg County Bar Association Law Day ceremony, had discussions with the Legal Desert Task Force, attended the Oklahoma Bar Foundation meeting and the OBF Developmental Committee meeting, met with Law Schools Committee officers to discuss the committee’s aims and objectives, helped with finalizing the OBA Heroes Day promotional flier and various details of the event, and met with the Executive Committee to discuss various OBA issues.
