About Law-Related Education
The Law-Related Education (LRE) initiative was established in 1989 to further the goal of increasing public service and enhancing public understanding of the law and the legal system. LRE endeavors to educate citizens in a constitutional democracy and to create an active and responsible citizenry.
Programs and Free Resources
Law-related educational resources are provided by the LRE Committee and other OBA entities. Lesson plans and other free resources for teachers and students are being reviewed but will be included below soon.
These handy, pocket-sized booklets contain the full text of the U.S. Constitution, including all amendments, and the Declaration of Independence. To request pocket constitutions, please complete the form.
Young Adult Guide app
An app full of helpful legal information specially tailored to those who are new to adulthood. Great for students, parents, teachers or school administrators. Searching for “OBA Young Adult Guide” in the App Store or Google Play, or visit the Young Adult Guide app webpage.
Law Day Contest
This annual contest features both an art and writing category for grades pre-K through 12th, and includes writing prompts and lesson plans related to this year's theme. Law Day is celebrated across the state, learn more about it on the Law Day website.
