Judicial Election Races

District and associate judges are elected by a vote of the people every four years. The next term will occur in 2010. If a vacancy occurs during a judge's term, the vacancy is filled by appointment by the governor from a list of three names of qualified individuals submitted to the governor by the Judicial Nominating Commission. The OBA Bench and Bar Committee collected information on candidates for contested judicial offices and for judges automatically elected because they did not draw opponents as a community service to assist Oklahoma voters.
