Oklahoma Bar member Trish Morris, formerly District Counsel at
the Jacksonville District of the US Army Corps of Engineers, has been
promoted as an Associate Deputy General Counsel with the Army General
Counsel's Office (Installations, Environment and Civil Works) at the
Pentagon. Ms. Morris will handle national issues involving Army
civil works and the Clean Water Act and Section 404 regulatory programs.
Ms. Morris graduated from the University Of Oklahoma
Law School in 1983, concentrated her practice in oil and gas and
public utility litigation for the private bar and Oklahoma
Corporation Commission for 10 years and then joined the US Army
Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District Office of Counsel, in
1994. She was promoted through the Corps of Engineers' legal
community, and became head of the legal office as the Gulf
Region Division Counsel in Baghdad, Iraq in 2005-6 and the
District Counsel in Jacksonville in 2006-2009. She was named the
Corps' Attorney of the Year in 2006.
Ms. Morris is an Army Reserve JAG officer, who has
served on active duty with CENTCOM in
Afghanistan
(2002-2003) and
Iraq
(2003-2004). She was awarded a Combat Action Badge during
her service in Afghanistan
and a Bronze Star for her service in Iraq.
