Non-perishable food items are being collected at the Washington County Courthouse, on the first floor in the foyer, throughout the month or people may call Washington County Pints & Quarts Chair Linda Thomas at (918) 336-6300 to arrange for items to be picked up.
The quarts should be stored at the court house or some other centrally located place within your county. You should make arrangements to donate the quarts to a local food pantry or other charitable organization. To tabulate final results, count each item as one "quart." It is suggested that you alert your local newspapers and other media outlets and encourage them to take pictures during the event. Plus, take photos yourself and send them to the OBA Public Information Dept., OBA, P.O. Box 53036, Oklahoma City, OK 73152 for the bar journal and Web site. Digital photos okay, too. Send to carolm@okbar.org.
The results of your drive must be given to OBA Executive Director John Morris Williams no later than Nov. 25, 2003. John Morris Williams will declare winners between the challenging counties and an overall winner. The decision of the executive director will be final and not subject to appeal.
Non-lawyers may give blood or donate food.
For each individual challenge between counties, a winner of the pints competition and a winner of the quarts competition will be announced. In addition, an overall statewide winner of the pints competition and an overall statewide winner of the quarts competition will be announced.
