Please Do What You Do Best – Give Legal Advice

My Fellow Oklahoma Lawyers,

At bar leadership school they teach you that the unexpected will always come up. I am not certain that any training has prepared me for the task ahead as we try to help our state recover from the massive loss of life and property. However, I know that with your help our Association is prepared to meet the challenges ahead.

Many of you have contacted me asking what you can do to help. As of today, I have activated our OBA Disaster Plan, and we are in need of volunteers to assist tornado victims and their families. Even if you live outside the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, there is still much you can do.

To sign up, I ask that you fill out an online form and help the OBA meet the legal needs of our tornado victims. Also as the situation develops, check the OBA website for other ways in which you might help.

In the coming days, we will be processing victim assistance requests sent by email and over a newly established 1-800 number. In order to timely provide that assistance, I need Oklahoma lawyers to sign up now to volunteer. I very much appreciate your help. My proudest moments as a lawyer have always been when I see lawyers giving back. Thank you for your help and making all of us proud of the generous spirit of Oklahoma lawyers.
