2013 OBA Annual Meeting: The Best of Oklahoma
If you love “local,” this OBA Sections-sponsored event is the place to be on Thursday evening! Classier than a Bruce Wayne cocktail party, this event highlights Oklahoma’s best art, music, food and wine.
“I chose the cream of the crop for this occasion,” said Jan Thompson, OBA MCLE staff and coordinator for the event. “I consider Oklahoma the best, and I wanted to showcase that for our attorneys.”
Pianist Tommy Nix
This event features pianist Tommy Nix, who is a native Oklahoman. Mr. Nix is the favored entertainer at the Governor’s Mansion and pianist for world-renowned opera singer Demetra George. He has been entertaining crowds in Oklahoma and other states for more than 30 years, and he will have CDs available for purchase at the event.
More than 20 local artists and galleries will also be showing their work. Many of these artists are well-known throughout the state and have shown their art work in New York, California and New Mexico. Artwork will be available for purchase at the event.
At this event, you’ll enjoy delectable aperitifs, including assorted cheeses with flat bread, stuffed mushrooms and chocolate-covered strawberries; all created using Oklahoma-grown-and-produced food. There will also be wine tasting at the event, featuring Oklahoma-made wine brought to you by the Oklahoma Grape Industry Council. Participants will be given their own wineglass, which they can use to sample each wine.
Many thanks to the OBA Sections for sponsoring this event!
