YLD Welcomes New Attorneys

On April 29, 114 young lawyers were sworn in at 10 a.m. in the House of Representatives chamber at the state Capitol. Luke Gaither, YLD chairperson, was one of the individuals who spoke to the new admittees and their guests as part of the ceremony. In his address, Gaither stressed the importance of the YLD and encouraged each new bar member to become involved on OBA and OBA/YLD committees. Then, as is tradition, the YLD hosted a new attorney admission reception in the Capitol rotunda immediately following the ceremony. Cookies and punch were provided along with helpful YLD information.

New Bar Members Honored at Receptions

To honor the newest admittees to the bar, the YLD is hosting two new attorney receptions in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The Oklahoma City event was held on May 12 in the Landrun Room of the Bricktown Brewery. The Tulsa event is scheduled for May 19 in the Loft at EnFuego Restaurant on Brookside from 5:30-7:30 p.m. All lawyers – young and more seasoned – are invited to come. The event is informal. Food and beverages will be provided by the YLD, as well as information on how to become involved in YLD committees and activities. It should be a great opportunity for networking and fellowship among members of the legal community. Midyear Meeting Offers Relaxation, Fellowship

Mark your calendars for the YLD Midyear Meeting from June 23-25. It will be held in conjunction with the annual Solo and Small Firm Conference at Tanglewood Resort on Lake Texoma. This event is guaranteed to be a great time for all lawyers, so please make your reservations today. Nothing can beat the CLE, the fun and the friendships you will make during your trip!
