OBA-MAP has an array of services to assist all Oklahoma lawyers in improving their practices. These services are available to all Oklahoma lawyers, but they may be of particular interest to solo and small firm lawyers, young lawyers and lawyers migrating from government or large firm practice into opening their own practice.

Some of our services include:

Free Telephone Hotline – The OBA-MAP staff attempts to answer brief questions about management and technology issues. Our number is (405) 416-7008. Often we are able to provide callers with a citation to more detailed paper or book with more information about the topic.

The OBA Solo and Small Firm Conference – We arrange for programming, activities and management of this award-winning, annual conference, with the consultation, advice and involvement of the OBA Solo & Small Firm Conference Planning Committee. The 2008 Solo and Small Firm Conference is scheduled for June 19-21, 2008 at Tanglewood Resort.

Free Consultations at the Bar Center - Any lawyer who is setting up a new practice or has encountered a difficult issue that cannot be comfortably handled over the telephone is welcome to schedule a free one hour appointment with the OBA-MAP Director.

Office "Health Checks" - These consultations take place in the lawyer’s office on a fee for services basis. A wide range of management issues can be covered. Typically all staff and attorneys will be involved both in group and individual interviews.

OBA-MAP Lending Library - Law practice management books, video and audio tapes are available for lawyers to "check out" and review. All new publications of the ABA Law Practice Management Section are routinely furnished to the OBA-MAP Lending Library through an arrangement with the section.

OBA-NET - The OBA-MAP Director serves as sysop, forum moderator, and help desk for OBA-NET. We regularly posts law practice management tips and legal news items there.

Sales of Law Office Management books - We are a distributor of ABA Law Practice Management books and offer these for sale to our members at a discounted price.

Oklahoma Bar Journal articles - Each theme issue of the Oklahoma Bar Journal contains the regular column “Law Practice Tips” by OBA-MAP Director Jim Calloway. Links to the online versions of these articles are available here in this section of www.okbar.org. Our department director serves as editor for the Bar Journal theme issue on technology and law practice management in November.

OBA CLE programs – We often speak at OBA CLE programs on law office management, law office technology and Internet research programs.

County Bar Presentations - The OBA-MAP Director is available to speak at your county bar meetings or other organized lawyer group at no charge.

Law Office Digital Products - We currently sell and market the Doug Loudenback Grande Macros for family lawyers who use the WordPerfect word processing program. For more information on the Grande Macros, click here. We also sell and produce (with the OBA Law Office Management & Technology Section) the Oklahoma Law Office Procedures Manual on CD-ROM.

Other Projects- We are also proud to be asked to participate in other OBA programs that further our mission and help the OBA. Some of these include providing practice management tips for the OBA E-news, the OBA Section electronic mailing lists, the OBA Internet Directory (Links), and www.oklahomafindalawyer.com.
