The Oklahoma Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (the OBA YLD) was organized in 1966 to provide an avenue for Oklahoma’s young lawyers to work on bar-related and public service-related projects. Since that time the OBA YLD has taken an aggressive leadership role in all bar committees and activities.
The work of the YLD
The work of the OBA YLD is carried out through the combined efforts of the officers, board of directors and committee chairpersons and members. The various committees are the vehicles through which the division implements its programs and projects and from which new ideas are developed.
All members of the Oklahoma Bar Association in good standing who were first admitted to the practice of law in the past 10 years are automatically YLD members.
If you are interesting in becoming more involved in the OBA YLD, consider running for a position on the YLD Board of Directors. The YLD Board of Directors has monthly meetings that are typically held on Saturday mornings in Tulsa and/or Oklahoma City.
Nominating petitions containing no less than 10 signatures must have been received by Joe Vorndran no later than 5 p.m. on September 15, 2014.
Please contact the YLD Chair to find out how else you can get involved in the YLD. Not sure where you want to serve? No problem, we have plenty of projects you can be a part of!
