The Oklahoma Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (the OBA YLD) was organized in 1966 to provide an avenue for Oklahoma’s young lawyers to work on bar-related and public service-related projects. Since that time the OBA YLD has taken an aggressive leadership role in all bar committees and activities.
The work of the YLD
The work of the OBA YLD is carried out through the combined efforts of the officers, board of directors and committee chairpersons and members. The various committees are the vehicles through which the division implements its programs and projects and from which new ideas are developed.
All members of the Oklahoma Bar Association in good standing who were first admitted to the practice of law in the past 10 years are automatically YLD members.
Whether it be a place on the OBA YLD Board of Directors or on one of the 10 committees and projects, the division welcomes your participation. The board has monthly meetings typically held on Saturday mornings at various locations and remotely via BlueJeans. Elections are held in the fall. Contact the YLD Chair to learn more.
Now is the time to submit a nominating petition, bio and photo for a YLD Board of Directors position. Deadline is Friday, Aug. 4, 2017. See nominating information for the petition and all the details.
