Opening Your Law Practice
Operating a law practice is running a business. Recent law school graduates will recognize that law schools do not cover much in the way of business operations. Even an experienced lawyer who has been an associate or partner in a firm may still have been shielded from the nuts and bolts of business operations.
For those who are in the process of setting up a new law firm, operating a new law firm or just want a refresher course for an established law firm, the OBA presents Opening Your Law Practice, a free day long non-CLE credit seminar, co-sponsored by Oklahoma Attorneys Mutual Insurance Company. This free program is presented three times a year - in the spring at the Oklahoma Bar Center and in the fall at the Oklahoma Bar Center and the Tulsa County Bar Association.
The program will cover the nuts and bolts of setting up and running a law practice, focusing on management, technology, marketing and finance. There will also be presentations on shopping for professional liability insurance, law firm accounting and professionalism. There is a free lunch and pre-registration is required
