Judicial Nominating Commission

On June 2, 2017, the ballots for the Judicial Nominating Commission election will be mailed to the active attorneys in good standing in Congressional Districts 1 and 2 (as the districts existed at the date of adoption of Article 7B of the Oklahoma Constitution in 1967).

The ballots must be received at the Bar Center by to be included in the tabulation taking place the following Monday, June 19.

The winning candidate must receive at least 40% of the votes cast to be declared the winner.

In the event of a runoff, the runoff ballots will be mailed on June 23, 2017, and must be received at the Bar Center by 5:00 p.m. on July 21. The tabulation of the ballots will be conducted on Monday, July 24, 2017.

Ballot Timeline

Friday, June 2, 2017 - Ballots will be mailed to every active OBA member in Districts 1 & 2.

Friday, June 16, 2017 - Ballots must be received at the Oklahoma Bar Center by 5 p.m.

Monday, June 19, 2017 - Elections results will be posted.


When submitting a nominating petition, candidates should include a 100‑word or less biography and a photo (preferably digital).
