The OBA
Legal Ethics Advisory Panel, with the OBA Ethics Counsel, serves
in an advisory capacity for OBA members seeking written opinions
concerning compliance with the Oklahoma Rules of Professional Conduct. The
committee makes every attempt to conduct thorough research in preparing
an advisory opinion; however, members should conduct their
own research regarding specific ethical issues to determine
whether an opinion has superseded by caselaw or authority.
Legal ethics opinions are intended as a guide to responsible professional
behavior. Advisory opinions shall only have such force and effect
as they are given by the Oklahoma Supreme Court and shall not be
construed as anything but advisory in nature. The OBA disclaims any
liability in connection with the issuance of any of its opinions. Panel
rules describe its duties, membership, procedure and opinion
appeal process.
All ethics opinions, with a search mechanism, are hereby available
in this one resource. To search for a specific ethics opinion, type
