Failure is Not an Option

I want to encourage all Oklahoma attorneys to attend this year's bar
convention. It will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Oklahoma City Nov.
4-6. I want this to be the best Annual Meeting ever. Attendance is the
key to having a great convention. If you have never gone before, this is
a perfect year to start. If you are a long-time attendee, we will be glad
to see you back.
The theme for the 105th OBA Annual Meeting is "Failure is Not an Option." This year marked the 40th anniversary of the landing on the moon. That was a great accomplishment for our country. This directed my attention to a book by Gene Kranz, the former NASA flight director during the Apollo13 incident, called Failure is Not an Option. Much like the NASA engineers working out problems, we as attorneys face adversity every day. We must work the problems with a "failure is not an option" attitude. Our association has faced several important issues this year, and we have faced those issues with a "failure is not an option" attitude. I believe it is a fitting theme for the year.
